General
What is TempMail?
▼
TempMail is a free disposable email
service. It gives you a temporary
email address instantly with no
registration required. Use it to
protect your real inbox from spam
when signing up for websites
you are not sure about.
Is TempMail free?
▼
Yes. TempMail is completely free
to use. No registration, no payment,
no credit card. We keep it free
through advertising and optional
donations from users who appreciate
the service.
Do I need to register or sign up?
▼
No. You never need to register or
create an account. Just visit the
site and you instantly get a
temporary email address ready to use.
Who owns the email servers?
▼
We are honest about this. We do not
own the email servers. We use third
party APIs from Guerrilla Mail and
1secmail to receive emails. We are
a frontend interface that displays
those emails in a cleaner way.
This is why the service is free.
Using The Service
How long does my email address last?
▼
Your email address lasts 10 minutes
by default. You can extend it up to
3 times by tapping the Extend button,
adding 10 minutes each time for a
maximum of 40 minutes total.
After expiry a new address
is generated automatically.
What happens if I refresh the page?
▼
We save your session automatically
so refreshing the page should restore
your same email address and inbox.
However if you close the tab
completely your session is deleted
for privacy and a new address
will be generated next time.
Can I choose my own email address?
▼
Currently addresses are generated
randomly. Custom address selection
is planned as a future feature.
For now tap New Address to generate
different random addresses until
you get one you like.
Can I use it on multiple devices?
▼
Yes. Use the QR code button to
scan your inbox address with another
device. This opens the same inbox
on the other device. Note that
session data is stored per device
so both devices need to stay
on the page.
What is the OTP extractor?
▼
When an email arrives containing
a verification code or OTP number
our site automatically detects it
and displays it in large text at
the top of your screen. This saves
you from having to open the email
and search for the code yourself.
Just tap Copy Code to copy it.
Technical
Why is my inbox not updating?
▼
Your inbox refreshes automatically
every 5 seconds when you are active.
If it seems stuck tap the
Check Now button to manually refresh.
If the problem continues tap
New Address to reset completely.
Sometimes the email provider APIs
experience temporary delays.
Why did my address change suddenly?
▼
This happens when your session
expires after 10 minutes or when
you close and reopen the browser tab.
Always copy your address immediately
after it is generated. Use the
Extend button to get more time
before it expires.
Why does the email provider
sometimes switch?
▼
We use multiple email providers
for reliability. If our primary
provider Guerrilla Mail is slow
or unavailable we automatically
switch to our backup provider
1secmail. You will see a small
notification when this happens.
This ensures the service keeps
working even if one provider
has issues.
Is it safe to use TempMail?
▼
For receiving non sensitive emails
yes it is safe. All emails are
displayed in a sandboxed environment
to protect you from malicious
content. However do not use temp
mail for sensitive information
like banking, passwords or personal
documents as the email providers
we use may have access to
email contents.
Does TempMail track me?
▼
No. We collect absolutely nothing
about you. No IP addresses, no
usage logs, no analytics, no
tracking cookies. Your session
data stays on your device only
and is deleted when you close
your tab. Read our Privacy Policy
for complete details.
Problems and Limits
A website is not accepting
my temp email. Why?
▼
Some websites block known disposable
email domains. This is their right
and we cannot control it. Try tapping
New Address several times to get
a different domain. Different domains
may work on different websites.
We are continuously working to
offer more domain options.
Can I send emails with TempMail?
▼
No. TempMail is receive only.
You cannot send emails from your
temporary address. It is designed
purely for receiving verification
emails and avoiding spam.
Can I receive attachments?
▼
This depends on the email provider.
Some attachments may appear and
some may not. We recommend not
relying on TempMail for receiving
important attachments as delivery
is not guaranteed.
The site is not working at all.
What should I do?
▼
Try these steps in order:
1. Refresh the page.
2. Clear your browser cache.
3. Try a different browser.
4. Check your internet connection.
5. Wait a few minutes and try again.
If the problem continues the email
providers may be temporarily down.
This is outside our control but
usually resolves within minutes.

Is using TempMail legal?
▼
Yes. Using disposable email services
is completely legal in most countries.
Many legitimate companies offer
similar services. However you must
not use TempMail for illegal
activities. See our Terms of Service
for prohibited uses.
Does TempMail comply with GDPR?
▼

ourselves our GDPR obligations are
minimal. We have no database of
user information to protect or
delete. Third party email providers
we use have their own GDPR policies.
